Golf de Saint-Tropez
It is one of the most beautiful bays of France, located here on the Mediterranean: the Golf de Saint-Tropez. The bay is about 7 km long and at its widest point it measures 4km. In the simmer time hundreds and perhaps thousands of boats come into the Gulf. There are boats of every price range to be found, from pedal boats, over fishing boats up to sailing yachts, luxury yachts and cruise ships. The Gulf is borded by the communities of the peninsula de Saint-Tropez , as well as four other municipalities and cities.

Das kleine Örtchen Grimaud ist auf einer Anhöhe in der Mitte des Golf de Saint-Tropez gelegen. Es wird überragt von den Ruinen seiner majestätischen Burg aus dem 11.Jahrhundert. Ursprünglich zur Ausschau nach Feinden genutzt, hat man von hier aus den mit Abstand besten Blick über die gesamte Bucht.
Es ist der Prototyp eines typischen Badeortes an der Côte d'Azur. Eine lang gestreckte Strandpromenade mit Bistros und Cafés und direkt dahinter der Ortskern. Urpsrünglich, verwinkelt und mit vielen kleinen und großeren Boutiquen versehen. Um von Saint-Tropez nach Sainte-Maxime zu kommen, benutzen Sie am besten die Fähre. Denn damit entgehen Sie dem berühmten Stau.
Genau in der Mitte der Bucht von Saint-Tropez liegt die in den 60er Jahren des letzten Jahrhunderts entworfene künsliche Lagunenstadt, Port Grimaud. Oder wie sie auch gerne genannt wird: das Venedig der Côte d'Azur. Denn das Städtchen ist auf dem Meer gebaut und anstelle von asphaltierten Straßen gibt es Wasserwege.
Eine echte Arbeiterstadt, wie sie hier in Südfrankreich typisch ist. Die kleine Stadt liegt nicht direkt am Wasser, hat aber mit Port-Cogolin in 5km Entfernung Zugang zum Meer. Berühmt ist Cogolin für seine handgefertigten Pfeifen aus den Wurzeln der Baumheide (Bruyère) und aus Korkeiche, sowie vieler anderer handgefertigten Waren, unter anderem Wollteppiche.
